Reefy - Swiftfin Client ("Reefy," "the App") is a media player application for Apple TV that connects to user-operated Jellyfin media servers. This privacy policy explains how Reefy handles your information.
Reefy collects zero personal data.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal data.
Reefy is a local client application that connects directly to Jellyfin servers that you own or have authorized access to. All data remains between your Apple TV device and your Jellyfin server.
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following information locally on your Apple TV:
- Server connection details — URLs and authentication tokens for your Jellyfin servers
- User preferences — Playback settings, interface preferences, and viewing history
- Cached media information — Metadata retrieved from your Jellyfin server for performance
This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification information
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Viewing habits or watch history
- Device identifiers
- Location data
- Crash reports (unless you choose to submit them via Apple)
Third-Party Services
Your Jellyfin Server
When you connect to a Jellyfin server, your data exchange is governed by that server's configuration and privacy practices. Reefy acts solely as a client and does not intercept, store, or transmit this data beyond what is necessary for playback.
Apple
As an App Store application, Reefy is subject to Apple's standard App Store terms. Apple may collect anonymized, aggregated analytics if you have opted into sharing analytics with app developers. We do not have access to any personally identifiable information through this service.
Data Security
All server credentials are stored securely using Apple's Keychain services. Data is encrypted at rest on your device using iOS/tvOS standard encryption.
Children's Privacy
Reefy does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. The App does not collect personal information from any users.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last Updated" date.
